SUMMARY:Open Your Ear to the Great Below 2025
DESCRIPTION:After a very successful collaboration in 2024\, Tracy Chipman and I offer this retreat day for women* again\, resting and descending into the composting season through the ancient Sumerian story of Inanna and Ereskigal: a story of death and resurrection that predates Christianity by some 2\,000 years. \nWe will encounter the story through embodiment\, both individually and as a group.  There will be opportunities for you to drop deeply into your body’s experience and wisdom.  From a place of surrender\, we will rise again to meet the world’s challenges more resourced. \nThe day is facilitated by Jackie Singer and Tracy Chipman\, who joins us virtually from USA. \nTHOUGH THIS EXPERIENCE\, YOU WILL:   \n– Descend into the sacred terrain of the Great Below. \n– Open yourself to hear\, feel\, see & know what you are ready to hear\, feel\, see & know. \n– Allow yourself to be playful. \n– Risk being seen and heard in new ways. \n– Truly rest into the soft animal of your body. \n– Reclaim lost aspects of yourself. \n– Open to the power within you \nWhat gifts await you in the Great Below? \nHow might your soul be fed beholding and being held\, by deep time story\, in the sacred vessel of your body\, in the circle of women\, resting and descending together? \n* This day retreat is open to adult women/femme identifying folks. \n* * * \nFEEDBACK from our 2024 Retreat Day \n\n“Thank you so much for a truly amazing day. It held\, supported\, loved and nourished me in the best way that I so desperately needed. Really opened my eyes to a lot about where I currently am on my healing journey and paved a way for some wonderful transformations.”\n\n“Superbly planned and run”\n\n“I was more in my body than I’ve been for a while. I feel the changing that I talked about at the end continuing.”\n\n“An amazing experience for me personally.  I felt safe\, held\, treated as adult\, loved and you both showed great skill and awareness for the well-being of all.”\n“There’s something magical about how a group of mostly strangers can connect so well in these gatherings. I feel like I got to know so many people on a different level than such a short meeting usually delivers\, and I hope to meet up with all of you again.” \n\n\n“I felt the somatic experience released so much and yet so subtly it happened with an ease and gentleness that surprised me.”\n\nTracy Chipman weaves the ancient rivers of oral storytelling\, writing and somatic practices creating unforgettable experiences inviting us towards embodied transformation & interconnectedness with the animate world. Since the mid 1990s she has been listening powerfully into the deep time myth of Inanna & Ereshkigal. Tracy resides in northern Wisconsin\, occupying the traditional territories of the Ojibwe peoples. In March 2023 Tracy published her first book\, Borealis Mundi – Resting in Place\, Loss & Grace. (www.tracychipman.net) \n* * * \nJOINING DETAILS \nCOST: £145\n \nEarly Bird Rates in effect until midnight 1st October: £120 \nTo express interest\, please complete the Booking Form. \nYour place is confirmed upon receipt of £30 deposit. \nPrice includes fresh herbal teas\, nourishing snacks and a delicious vegan lunch created by vegan queen Sarada Wong (Shakti Kitchen). \nSpace is limited to 12 participants. \nPayment instalments are possible if needed\, and some concessionary places are available. SUMMARY:Rhiannon Unbridled
DESCRIPTION:Rhiannon Unbridled in the woods!  I fell in love with this unusual venue near Dartington college.  If the weather is kind\, we will sit by the fire.  If not\, we’ll cosy up in ‘The Nest’\, a wood-fired circular cabin. \n \nRhiannon Unbridled takes the story of the Celtic Goddess Rhiannon out of its well-preserved Welsh Medieval manuscript in the Bodleian Library\, and wrestles with it. Jackie’s stories of her girlhood fascination with horses\, and developing relationships with the opposite sex are interlocked with chapters of Rhiannon’s life\, until the narratives collide in a need to rescue both modern woman and ancient goddess from the forces that bridle them. \nPraise from the audience at Oxford Storytelling Festival \n“As Jackie freed herself\, unleashed and unbridled\, I felt as elated as the rest of the audience. I urge you to experience this bold\, brave and original work for yourself.” Marion McCartney\, Author & Activist
